First, address yourself to the straps. They are thin. Thinner straps juxtaposed with a wide/strong shoulder is gorgeous. It just is. When we wear thick straps they can tend to thicken the look of our upper bodies, so finding thin straps in a tank is key.

Second, gaze upon the STRAIGHT NECKLINE. I’m sorry I’m screaming at you in all caps but it’s that important. A straight neckline, as you can see, is perhaps the most flattering neckline of all time. Maeve is one of Anthropologie’s in-house brands, and we are always drawn to their stuff. They almost always come out with extended sizing, nearly everything they make is extremely stretchy and/or ribbed which translates into exquisitely flattering and form fitting (while never tipping into that bodycon TOO tight look) and whatever genius designs this brand, really understands a woman’s body and how we want to look and feel.

Did we buy this tank top in all colors with our own money and justify it as “research?” We sure did.
