This Is The Last Pair Of Work Pants You Will Ever Need To Buy

WHAT: Aritzia Babaton Agency Pant - (Re)ssential

WHY: So, couple of questions:

1) Do you remember the first time you ever had to shop for work clothes?

And 2) Was it at Express?

Or maybe it was The Limited?

There used to be entire stores devoted to work clothes, because work clothes used to be their very own thing.

Now, thankfully getting dressed for work is still about looking spiffed up and polished, but we can also look like ourselves.

In fact, our favorite work outfits are the ones that are flattering yet comfortable, casj enough to wear to the market yet chic enough to wear on a first date.

And all of this really comes down to one thing - the pants.

Bad work pants depress us. They make us look older and sadder, and so much further from that innocent girl wondering if we could pull off stirrup pants on our first day bussing at Marie Callender’s.

Point is, it has been a loooongtime goal of ours to find the best work pants.

Well, my friends, we finally have. They’re from Aritzia, and we love them.

Behold just a sampling:

No brand would dare make a single pair of pants in this many prints and colors unless they knew they’d hit the jackpot with fit. And oh they have. Here are all the boxes these pants check.

  • They’re just the right high-rise to nip the waist.

  • The leg is jusssst wide enough to make all legs look longer, regardless of whether you’re tall or petite.

  • The front is flat so absolutely no voluminous pleating or unflattering bulges.

  • The back is darted so it looks like they were tailored just for you.

  • The fabric has stretch, even though it looks supremely expensive.

  • Oh, and they’re machine washable. That has nothing to do with the fit but is absolutely huge when it comes to pants we want to be able to wear every day without taking a second job to foot the dry cleaning bill.

We wear them to meetings with our comfiest boots and sweaters like this:

We also wear them casually on weekends and to run errands with sneaks like this:

They come in cropped, tall, and short to ensure we get the exact length we want. And the material itself is soft yet structured enough to never lose its perfect shape.

Since we bought ours, we can report that we stopped finding ourselves ever bothering to run our fingers through the “work pants” section of any store.

It’s been a journey, but like The Limited, we’re not (too) sad to see it come to a close.

Price: $148
