This Is The Best Foot Cream We Have Ever Used

WHAT: Ahava Dermud Intensive Foot Cream

WHY: I haven’t felt super jazzed about getting a pedicure the last two years and my feet are NOT thrilled about it. Especially my heels which, until a few days ago, looked like a cadaver. Sorry if that’s TMI but I feel like if you also have cracked, sad heels, I really need to make the point that my feet are in a bad, bad way.

So I turned it into a project: find the single greatest foot cream known to man.

I tried…a lot. I tried the viral Amazon foot “mask” that’s supposed to “reveal” baby feet in a week. It didn’t work. I bought ludicrously priced creams. I bought fancy “clean” creams. They all sort of did the same thing—they felt nice going on, but my feet felt and looked the same after 20 minutes.

But wait. There’s something glimmering out in the distance. Do you see it? Is it a mirage? Or is it the Ahava Leave On Dead Sea MUD? Oh, friends. I think it’s the mud.

Ok but no it’s not like actual mud. It’s like the thickest, densest, most viscous cream I have ever experienced, and after vigorously rubbing it into my heels, it felt….different. I was of course excited but didn’t want to jinx it. The emotional journey of finding a functioning foot cream can be far too taxing if you’re not careful.

So, in a very nonchalant way, I let all of its juiciness absorb into my sad cracked feet while revisiting that episode of Schitt’s Creek where Stevie was unceremoniously dumped by that traveling motel writer jerk, and by the time the ep was done, I knew it. I knew I had found the one. THE ONE!

My foot skin was gleaming, my heels softened, and while it took some time for the “mud” to absorb, nothing was slippery or slidey.

Apparently Dead Sea mud also claims to reduce inflammation (!), while aloe and shea butter extracts intensely soften extremely dry and/or sensitive skin (me), while jojoba and coconut oils are what keep that intense hydration locked in for hours.

How lovely that it’s paraben free, derm-tested, hypoallergenic, GMO-free, and cruelty free.

Literally never buying another foot cream again. Also can’t believe I wrote “foot skin”? Ew, David.
