WHAT: Ouai Rose Hair & Body Oil
WHY: Hair oil, like foams and gels and sea sprays and texturizing sprays and protecting sprays and pomades, is just one of those hair styling products that you understand in theory, but not always in practice.
But a great hair oil can be supremely helpful for one’s hair happiness and health, and therefore, one’s life.
It can perk up dull, dry ends. It can tame flyaways and frizz. It can add much needed moisture without needing to layer on conditioners and masks, especially if you’re prone to oilier hair overall.
And our favorite hair oil is undoubtedly from Ouai.
Their classic hair oil is lovely, too. But their rose version, which, also doubles as a body oil, is the correct choice. Why? Because it’s accompanied by their Melrose Place fragrance, which they describe as “a velvety rich rose fragrance with hints of bergamot, lychee, cedarwood, and white musk.” And if that description made you want to douse your entire body with it, don’t worry—you can.
It’s not just about the scent though. It’s also about the texture.
Because while most hair oils can be thick, leaving your entire head feeling weighed down with grease, Ouai’s oil is lightweight, almost verging on a dry oil. One to two pumps is plenty, which we lightly run from mid-strand down to the ends, avoiding our roots. Our sad, crisped ends are instantly brought back to life, thanks to absinthium and shea oils. Our frizz is tamed. Our scalps aren’t drenched.
Oh, and it’s also silicone-free, color-safe, and nutrient-rich. Icing on the cake, really.
