WHAT: Universal Standard Kelsey Denim Jacket in Light Blue
WHY: I guess we should call it a “denim” jacket to be more precise, but also that feels like a word a grandmother would use so we’re not saying it.
The jean jacket is such a smart, underrated essential in the 40-something gal’s closet.
And in the 30-something gal’s closet.
But of course that goes without saying.
We mostly write for the needs and desires of 40+ women, and that’s how we’re framing this. And no we’re not excluding younger people per se, it’s just that “content” for 40ish women is so few and far between, we are trying to plant our flag in that “white space” as the corporate drones say, because honestly we’re tired of not being represented on the Internet. ESPECIALLY since we are the ones making most of the financial decisions in our households, and because we have a cool $357 billion annual spending power. Yes billion.
BUT I DIGRESS.
This jacket.
Even though it’s a jacket, it’s a jacket you keep on inside which means you wear things like little camisoles and tank tops under it without fear of needing to remove it at some future point in your day. The jean jacket is nothing if not an easy, low-key way to cover your upper arms if your upper arms make you sad sometimes even though your upper arms are lovely just as they are.
You can also throw it on over any dumb jumpsuit or long skirt or maxi dress and POOF! Suddenly you’re wearing an outfit. This one has a gorgeous hint of stretch so you never feel oppressed, and its casj, effortless vibe means you will always look stylish without seeming like you even tried to look stylish which is apparently the only point of clothes because fashion is dumb but we don’t make the rules.
This JJ comes in three different colors, has the most incredible sizing of all time, and offers a “try at home” feature that’s supremely addictive.
Yes it’s summertime right now, but think of the cool, August evenings and the crisp September afternoons. They will be upon us soon. How is this possible when it was just February you ask? Unclear. Time is a construct. The point is, imagine your profoundly oversized scarf sprouting out above the collar of this jacket while holding a cup of something warm and possibly “mulled” in your gloved hands.
Can you see it?
