But our collective desire to find some sorcery-adjacent product that creates glass-like shine and a balanced, not-oily scalp is, as I think we can all agree, a pervasive one.
Or, barring that, even just a shampoo that makes some shred of a noticeable difference from the $6 generic brand we haphazardly toss into our red basket at CVS.
WELP. Hair she is.
Sorry. That was truly unforgivable.
But this not-shampoo-shampoo is so good, she’s worth some light wordplay.
A hefty squirt of New Wash gave us that squeaky clean feeling, left our hair supremely soft, and shockingly, our hair was easily comb-able, even though with this product you don’t need a separate conditioner.
Hairstory also offers radical transparency with their ingredients, which is lovely, because it’s not enough to call your product “natural” as it doesn’t actually mean anything. But they are wildly upfront so you know exactly what the hell you’re slathering your scalp with.
They have a handy quiz to figure out which formula will best suit your hair type, and while it took us a few showers for our scalp to fully acclimate, the shift was very noticeable once it did. And we could go days without washing.
