The Best Laundry Detergent If You’re Attempting To Go Waste-Free

WHAT: Blueland

WHY: We now know that single use laundry pods, which are wrapped in a dissolvable plastic, are considered to be “one of the most ubiquitous pollutants in present day wastewater.”

Great!

But blue, gooey detergent coming in plastic bottles doesn’t really feel like a better alternative, does it?

Which is why Blueland— maker of some of the most usable, zero waste cleaning products we’ve seen— has finally blessed us with a laundry detergent made for hardcore lovers of zero waste products: their naked laundry tablets.

Use them like you would use your usual, plastic-wrapped pods, and just…throw them in the washing machine. For serious stains, we still recommend pre-soaking with a stain remover, but overall, these produce an excellent clean.

We must also discuss the tin, because it is so chic. We want twelve for around the house.

Along with being plastic-free, these little tablets are also free from parabens, phosphates, chlorine bleach, petroleum, artificial dyes or fragrances, and they’re cruelty-free, too.

Just don’t expect that comforting smell of fresh laundry— these are all business.

At The Candidly, we try a lot of stuff so you don’t have to. We only recommend things we truly love, and that we think you’ll love, too. All products are chosen independently by our creative team, and all details reflect the price and availability of products at the time of publication. If you buy something we link to, The Candidly may earn a commission.
