This article is part of our series called "People We Like," in which we highlight interesting women, across all walks of life.

Leaders, great cooks, doctors, parents, writers; people who inspire us.

Today, we’re highlighting Charlotte Langley: chef, co-founder and CCO of Scout, a sustainability-focused seafood cannery who, dare we say, makes canned fish look…kinda cute.

The Candidly Questionnaire

1. What’s your most compelling quality?

My caring nature.

2. What’s your worst quality, according to your friends?

My sometimes fluttering self confidence.

3. What’s an overrated value you don’t buy into?

Pride.

4. How do you feel about cilantro?

Love it, bring it on.

5. Are essential oils anything?

I absolutely enjoy walking through spaces with different aromas. Maybe they are a thing, but I also just love good smells.

6. What's the most effective beauty trick you know?

Washing my hair a lot less than you would expect, and bathing in things that smell good and make me feel soft.

7. How do you get your self-esteem?

I get to experience so much powerful energy from others that it inspires me on the daily.

8. What meal can you make the hell out of?

I cook the hell out of anything that makes you feel good. I'm inspired in the moment by the people that I adore.

9. What’s your favorite item of clothing you own?

I love warm soft turtlenecks and leggings with big socks and a cozy scarf.

10. How do you handle conflict in your closest relationships?

I had a tendency to be passive aggressive based on my lack of communicating frustrations and challenges with other people in my life. Now, I listen, learn and share how I am feeling, where I am at, and look to understand where they are at.

11. What’s something you’ve changed your mind about in the last year?

Marriage. Never thought I was into it. And, now…I like the idea of being with the person I love forever and celebrating any opportunity that I can.

12. Who is someone in your field of work that you admire?

My Scout team. They are absolutely beautiful and gracious and I love them.

13. What Insta account speaks to you deeply?

@not9to5 speaks to me daily.

14. What’s your favorite movie from the last ten years?

Stargate.

15. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned about yourself as a leader?

That I don’t have to be good at everything.

16. What’s the most delicious bite of food you’ve ever had?

  • My first raw oyster shucked on the east coast of the Atlantic ocean.

  • Foie gras torchon with a sip of cold sweet wine.

  • Char roasted lettuces with a sweet and sour vinaigrette.

  • Slices of jeweled albacore tuna with seaweed and honey.

  • Slices of fresh wild mushrooms with crunchy sea salt.

  • The pop of an amazingly cold bottle of cheap champagne.

  • Hard roasted and smoked duck with fresh berries.

  • Cold Lobster and warm butter with a glass of milk…….many many more.

17. Is social media ruining our brains?

It definitely has some tough moments.

18.  Describe your actual bedtime routine.

Pretty tame. Little agenda chats, good teeth brushing, never go to bed angry, listen to soft classical music, as much kissing as possible.

19. What’s your relationship with bangs?

Like most, love and hate, I want but…..it doesn't work.
