We recently created Our Perfect Slightly Fancy Outfit™ and realized it was all from the same brand.
It’s extremely simple. Not a ton going on. But somehow, it’s perfect. Partially because the sweater is truly the softest non-itchiest sweater we’ve ever worn in our lives. Partially because the skirt has the most gorgeous, elegant, flattering drape while also sporting an elastic waist.
It’s those small (but huge) details that made us realize, this is our favorite brand discovery of 2024. And it is?
Aritzia.
So some of you will be like ummmmmm, I’ve been shopping at Aritizia for a decade. Others have never even heard of it. Which is exactly why we wanted to write an entire article dedicated to its genius. No, it’s not sponsored. We just couldn’t believe how many women we know had never heard of this brand and we really, really want everyone to experience them.
We did a deep dive into their brand and see they describe their clothes as “everyday luxury” which is a brilliant way to say it. Everything they make is wearable for every day, but it’s those little details that make you feel as though you didn’t just fling on some staticky, pilling sweater you hate. Every piece of clothing they make is meticulously considered, impeccably made, and flattering as all get out.
We might even go so far as to trot out the Italian phrase sprezzatura which loosely means effortless grace; the art of making something difficult look easy. And that’s what alllllll their clothes have.
We admit to you that we have an alarming number of pieces from Aritzia, but here are a few stand outs that we wear LITerally all the time. “On repeat” as the fashion people say.
1. The most flattering blazer…ever?
This blazer doesn’t really need a lot of words. Just … look at it? How does it do that? It creates the hourglassiest shape—even if you’re not an hourglass. We wear it fully buttoned almost as a shirt, and we’ve never gotten more compliments.

2. This Magic shirt
It’s just a shirt. But … is it? The ribbing creates a very nipped and polished silhouette, the arms are slightly wide so nothing feels squeezed, the collared v-neck flatters everyone, and it’s made with “wonder yarn” which is like a very lightweight wool that feels thick and dense (so it keeps its shape) but with zero itchiness. It only comes in 3 colors but maybe if ALL of us write to Aritizia they’ll make more?

3. The sweater
This sweater is so remarkable we wrote an entire dedicated article about its perfection HERE. But if you hate clicking into things (same) we’ll give you the CliffsNotes: no. sweater. is. softer. It’s so unbelievably cozy but has zero scratchy feel, and the slightly balloon arm gives you extra room for comfort. Here it is in charcoal, masquerading as a fully fancy party look even though it feels like you’re wearing your coziest sweats. If you treat yourself to only one thing from this article, make it this sweater.

4. The Skirt That Will Transform Your Wardrobe
First, it must be said that THIS sweater is the wrap version of our dream sweater above, and it is gorgeous. If you like a little bit more waist-nipping in your sweaters and don’t want to have to tuck it, this is your girl. Softness=beyond. But secondly, let’s address the white skirt. You are scared of it, but you mustn’t be. This one is made from a very thick, crepe fabric which hides a multitude of lumps and bumps in the back, and while I know we’re all scared of stains, this is MACHINE WASHABLE, and we’ve worn it for a while around small, sticky children and pouncing dogs, and it’s still perfect. Plus, a white skirt allows you to create THIS, which is the world’s easiest, most effortless holiday outfit—which is black on top and white on the bottom—so that you never have to think about it again. 5. The work pants that are frankly perfect

High rise. Flat front. Darted back. Stretch fabric. Machine washable. That’s the holy quintet of words we must see when we buy pants. They also come in cropped, tall, petite, a few patterns, and a dizzying collection of colors. But really we love them because they are supremely flattering. We can wear them to a semi-fancy meeting like in the photo above, or just for flopping around running errands, fetching children, and picking up dog poop. Like this:

6. The cropped jacket that should assuage your fear of cropped things
We find that so many people are terrified of cropped things that we wrote an entire article about it. Because the truth is, cropped things are wildly, wildly flattering on almost everyone. Yes, even if you have a butt. Yes, even if you have a pooch. The crop hits our bodies at the most nipped spot which is why we’re obsessed with wearing denim jackets. But this is an inside jacket which we wear when we want just a hair more chicness and sophistication—and it’s made from Japanese crepe which means it never, ever, wrinkles, making it the perfect fling-in-your-suitcase piece to jzuzj up anything else you’re wearing. More than anything in this list, this is the piece that invariably people stop us to ask where did you get that jacket?

7. The dress you don’t even have to think about
A dress with a baked-in tie that cinches the waist AND covers the belly pooch that protrudes ever more after consuming 6-10 Boursin-laden crackers and a vat of spinach and artichoke dip and many. many handfuls of Chex party mix? SIGN US UP. The floaty arm and kick-out hem doesn’t hurt, either. Yes it’s another white thing. Yes, it comes in mannnny colors including black but the navy is actually prettier if you simply must go dark.

8. The easiest skirt of all time
Well. It’s come to this. The pièce de résistance outfit. The outfit we showed you from the very start of this article. Dripping with sprezzatura? Yes, it’s our favorite sweater we rhapsodized about above. But this skirt. Oh, this skirt. An elastic waist (the dream) and full, lovely pleats that are flattering on all body types, because they skim the hips and create zero side bulge. The black is essential because all-black outfits are the chicest. But it also comes in a breathless array of colors, most of which are in our cart presently.
