We Humbly Submit To You That This Is The Greatest (And Easiest) Holiday Outfit Of All Time
by The Candidly Team
We have long upheld the theory that black on top and white on the bottom is the chicest possible way to put clothes on your body.
And the holidays are no exception.
Except that we get to do it even fancier. Which is what we’ve done today. Here are 3 versions of the black/white combo that are perfection for every, single event you have going on this year. You’ll always look polished, put together, sort of effortless, and if you tend to eschew red and gold and flashy clothing in favor of classic good taste, well, you are absolutely in the right article.
THE FANCY LOOK
1. The Sweater
Urban Revivo V-Neck Knitted Cardigan
We wanted to write this article a month ago but this sweater took TWENTY TWO DAYS to get it us. So we’re writing it now. It is quite gorgeous and luxe and now that we own it, it feels like it was worth the wait. Expertly nipped at the waist but with extremely roomy arms which we love because we have football player arms. AND we will wear it post-holiday so it’s extra worth it. Also it’s shockingly inexpensive. Here’s a close up shot to show you the luxeness:
Price: $70
2. The Skirt
By Anthropologie The Tilda Maxi Slip Skirt
One of the last true maxi skirts. Nothing nothing nothing flatters like a skirt that plunges straight to the floor. And this one is our favorite by far.
Price: $98
3. The Boots
Vivaia Abby Pointed-Toe Knee-High Heel Boots
These are, without hesitation, the most comfortable (but chic) boots we’ve ever had on our feet and they have a … very weird feature. They include an herbal elixir in the insole—yes. Mugwort. Which is known to help aches and pains. Which we can only assume is why they feel essentially like a sneaker even after 8 hours. Get. These. Boots. If you want to see more of them since the skirt is so long, click HERE. There’s also an ankle version we love HERE.
Price: $199
The flattering holiday biz/casj situation
1. The Blazer
Aritzia Babaton Standout Blazer
This is the most flattering blazer we’ve ever worn. As you can see, we wear it CLOSED LIKE A SHIRT and it CREATES CURVES. What words can even do this blazer justice? None. Just look at it. And look at how it skims one’s stomach so one can eat 6-10 brie and fig jam puff pastry appetizers during any given holiday fête, no problem.
And yes, it also skims over the butt! See evidence:
Price: $248
2. The Skirt
Aritzia Wilfred Devotion Skirt
The crepey fabric of this skirt masks any cellulite which means do not be afraid of white skirts! See evidence:
Price: $128
3. The Shoes
Madewell The Davina Slingback Pump
These stunnnnnning patent leather slingbacks feel like slippers. We don’t know how or why but we’re just accepting it.
Price: $158
Extras:
THIS incredible necklace.
The affordable look that strangely turned out to be our favorite
1. The Sweater
Madewell SoftWool Square-Neck Pullover Sweater
There is something about a wide neck sweater that gives us a subtle Flashdance feeling, and anything that gives us that feeling is a yes for us. It’s also ribbed (ribbing does gorgeous things to the boobs) and it has a beautiful waist-nip that keeps things sleek. AND it’s bountiful in the arms for any of our fellow thick-armed comrades.
Price: $100
2. The Skirt
Quince 100% Washable Silk Maxi Skirt
Two words: washable. silk. Also shockingly affordable. Also a sort of pale pale pale golden blonde color—not white exactly— if white isn’t your favorite for your skin tone.
Price: $80
3. The Booties
J.Crew Factory Rhinestone Booties
This is how to do holiday sparkly without looking like a Christmas ornament. So chic and unique, we’ve already gotten compliments galore. Oh, and they’re beyond comfortable for all day standing. We actually threw on our INSANELY comfortable short Bombas. And post-holiday, can you imagine them with cropped jeans? A revelation. And the price!
Price: $79.50
And to finish any look, try THIS makeup look we all saw like 17 years ago and fell in love with. We finally figured out the exact products to recreate it. And it’s easy.
