We Tried On 6 Of The Most Popular Styles Of These $50 Viral Jeans. Photos Galore.
by The Candidly Team
We are so sick and tired of bad jeans. They fit bad. They feel bad. They make us question if we will ever love how we look in jeans again. You know? Without spending multiple hundreds of dollars on a single pair.
So when we heard that Quince, a brand we adore for their reasonably priced selection of luxe, predominantly cashmere sweaters, was making jeans, our ears perked up.
But we were skeptical. Jeans are not some easy, one-size-fits-all category. They require such specificity and craftsmanship to be good.
Nevertheless, we rushed to try a pair of Quince jeans, and sure enough many, many sizes and colors were already sold out.
Of course, this only fueled our curiosity. Word was seemingly out. Something was seemingly being done right.
When we finally got our hands on a few styles, here is what we immediately noticed about them:
The Stretch: UN-BE-LIEEEVABLE. Like buttery leggings. They sculpt our curves but in the most breathable way.
The Shape: Our concern with stretchy jeans is that they’ll pucker and lose their shape. The opposite Is true of Quince jeans. Whatever shape you get them in is how they’ll stay. And the shape is good. The waists are high and nipping. There are inseam options so you get the just right fit. And let’s just answer what we’re all asking in our heads: the butt is very well done - big pockets, sets you in place, keeps things nice and lifted.
The Price: Every single pair is $50. And remember these jeans are made from lots of recycled materials and organic cotton. The brand is committed to less water use and the fabrics are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, which means they’re free from many hazardous substances. In other words, these aren’t some flimsy jeans that will fall apart after a wash. They’re excellent quality jeans that just happen to be $50.
Now we have to tell you that this equates to many of their jeans selling out often, but they do also restock often. Point is, if they have your size/style, we recommend pouncing.
Ok, so let’s get to the jeans, more specifically our own try-on photos of us (over-40, non-models) in the jeans. Just for reference, our non-model models are:
Audie: 5’ 6” - typically wears size 28/29 or 6/8 - Main problem with jeans: Anything that fits well on the butt leaves a waist gap.
Carolyn: 5’8” - typically wears size 27 or 4 - Main problem with jeans: Finds them hard to button over her lower belly when they fit well everywhere else.
1. Bella Stretch Relaxed Straight Jeans
What hole will they fill in your closet
These are the classic, trend-proof, relaxed jeans we so rarely find because most of them are either too wide and shapeless or too skinny and tapered. This pair is oddly perfect - magically nipping the waist, skimming legs to look longer and slimmer. They’re cut from a mix of denim and organic cotton so there’s this unbelievable stretch, but the crazy part is they never lose their shape. All our curves looked smoothed and held in at all times, and the comfort is beyond.

Bottom line: These are the most flattering straight-leg jeans we’ve tried in a long time. For some of us, these were our most “must-have” of all Quince styles.
Comes in two very pretty blues and two inseam lengths to ensure a perfect fit.
Price: $50
2. Bella Stretch Kick Flare Jeans
What hole will they fill in your closet?
These are the slightly cropped everyday jeans that look great with every top and almost every shoe you own. The little kick flare balances out thicker hips or a belly pooch. And again, the stretch and support are on point.

3. Bella Stretch Straight Jeans
What hole will they fill in your closet?
These classic ankle jeans have so much stretch and softness, we started to neglect our other ankle jeans that cost 4x as much. The way they smooth is sort of like shapewear but shapewear we can actually breathe in. Plus, the pockets are nice and big which (like we said) is critical to making our butts look their best.

Bottom line: They’re the kind of jeans that never go out of style, and the way they slim our legs is mildly addictive.
They also come in dark blue and black.

4. Bella Stretch Wide Leg Jeans
What hole will they fill in your closet?
Perhaps you already love wide-leg jeans, in which case, these could be your new favorite pair for the same reasons we keep rattling on about. Every detail is *chef’s kiss:* stretchy, sculpting, soft, chic. And if you’re not a wide jeans person because you worry they will make you look shorter or wider, you’re in for a real treat because these are not ludicrously voluminous legs. In fact, they skim like nothing else.

Bottom line: They are a dream pair of wide-leg jeans. The downside, of course, is they sell out in 8.7 seconds every time they restock. Luckily you can preorder most colors and sizes, and we’re telling you, it’s VERY worth it. Your future self will thank you.

5. Bella Stretch Skinny Jeans
What hole will they fill in your closet?
We completely understand the fear around the return of the skinny jean. We were scared too, until we remembered there is no better look than a tall boot and a skinny jean. Also, and this is very critical, these are the butteriest most legging-like skinny jeans we’ve tried on - maybe ever. Our managing editor (who keeps editing this sentence to not say model) is wearing them in a size 26 which is actually one full size too small for her, and they still feel absolutely lovely. That’s how stretchy they are. She’s also wearing them in blue which is great with a big ol’ white button-down but if you get the black, you can wear them with block heels or black boots, and a massive cashmere sweater (also incredibly priced from Quince) and have a killer “going out outfit.”
Bottom line: If you want a non-scary, supremely comfy skinny jean to wear with those beautiful boots you finally bought yourself, these are pretty flawless. And we assume they cost a fraction of the boots.

6. Bella Stretch Barrel Jeans
What hole will they fill in your closet?
We’ve wanted the fun, loose fit of a barrel jean to work on us for soooo long, but so many we tried were honestly hideous. This pair is extremely well balanced with all that comfy slouch but in a flattering, elongating cut that works on tall and short women alike. These are the jeans we grab when we’re bloated and unshaven and on our periods and still wanting to look effortlessly cool and styled.

Bottom Line: The only barrel jeans we’ve tried on and liked on ourselves this year.
Comes in two colors. Ugh, we need both.
