This Product Makes Your Skin Look Like You Just Got A Facial. Every Day.

WHAT: Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Magic Hydrator Mist

WHY: We’re not going to make you wait to know what it is because we’re too excited to tell you:

It’s. A. Mist.

But it’s not just any mist.

It’s legitimately the best mist we have ever, ever, ever tried. So it’s not even surprising that it’s made by our beloved Charlotte Tilbury.

We hope you’re still there. We know you couldn’t care less about a mist. They just seem…unimportant. And none of us have time for unimportant steps in our skincare routine when we have zero time or inclination. We’re busy, we’re tired, we’re frazzled, we’re over it.

So we really hope that’s enough equivocating to convince you that this face mist is utterly and totally like no other face mist we have ever used before. Ever. In fact, we can definitively say, it’s a product that most closely mimics that post-facial glow that usually just disappears after a day or so.

But when we spray this mist ON TOP OF OUR MAKEUP, we get that glow every. single. day.

Ok so…why? How? How is it that we’ve tried hundreds (yes, hundreds) of various sprays and mists throughout the years and they’ve never done a damn thing, but this one is visibly different? Welp. Here’s what’s in it:

• Something Charlotte calls her “hyaluronic mesh technology.” Is that a real thing? Unclear. But hyaluronic acid is a powerful hydrator for the skin so we buy it.

• Kombu extract: This is essentially seaweed, which protects skin from environmental damage and helps to promote collagen production

• Glycerin: This is a humectant, which means it pulls moisture into the outer layer of the skin from deeper layers of your skin. This ingredient is extremely common in skincare but it can also be very sticky and tacky which is why we sometimes stay away from it—but not here. It’s perfect.

• Niacinimide: This is a powerhouse ingredient, and we always look for it in our skincare products. It helps discoloration, brightens skin, can reduce dark sports, create smoother texture, AND balances oil production.

Ok so those 4 ingredients are very, very efficacious. They’re proven. Science-backed. And so it’s not that other face mists are “bad,” it’s just that we’ve never noticed that they really do anything.

Ok, so how do we use it?

1. Spray onto your face after you cleanse and before you dive into your official skincare routine—the dampness will help everything else you apply penetrate more deeply.

2. If you’re oily or combo skin, try just using this spray as your moisturizer during the warmer months. It creates a ton of glow without any gloop.

3. Our absolute favorite way to use it (every single day) is as the last step in our makeup routine. Have you noticed that all your setting sprays make you look powdery and dry and actually enhance wrinkles? Yes. Same. And it’s because nearly every setting spray has alcohol in it, which dries out your skin. Stay. Away. This mist is alcohol-free and helps to sort of rehydrate your makeup so nothing looks cakey (even powder) and instead of blotting or powdering throughout the day now, we just use this and it’s instantly refreshing and gorgeous.

We are utterly in love with Charlotte’s Magic Moisturizer, too, and always come back to it whenever we try new, shiny skincare products that our skin inevitably reacts badly to. Which is often. And so the moisturizer and this mist together? It’s sort of like an over-40 woman’s dream skincare—uncomplicated, soothing, amazing for sensitive skin, and floods us with glowy, dewy moisture.

Try it. We’re being overly dramatic for a reason. It really is that special. It has the word magic in the name for a reason you guys.
