So, I promise I’ll spare you the romantic imagery of jewel-toned leaves falling at your feet and steamed beverages brimming with spices seemingly designed to soothe your soul.

The boxy, cropped cut of this shirt breaks the mold in the best way. Hitting at such a cute, flattering length, it’s much more fun to wear than most button-ups. It might even be our favorite from Everlane as it’s quickly become an essential layering piece.

Everyone wants to own a leather jacket that’s modern, sleek, and skimming but we also need it to be warm, adamantly easy to wear, and to come in our actual size! Enter this leather blazer. Perhaps you’ve seen a similar style worn by Julia Roberts strolling down the streets of Notting Hill (#13 on our list of iconic film and TV coats). We’re happy to wear it all fall to dress up our daytime looks and to keep our “going-out” outfits from looking a lot less chic when we inevitably pair them with a heavy wool coat or an old sweater.
How we’re wearing it: Obviously, this is one of those pieces where the whole point is being able to wear it with everything, but we think it looks especially good with our favorite jeans being made today.

Finding this shoe from the Swedish brand Hasbeens felt like digging up a true treasure. It has all the splendid throwback of a 70s clog, fashioned into a form that’s somehow “elegant?” We know it’s a bit of an investment, but each pair is handmade to stand the test of time and look eternally gorgeous. The shoes are so sublimely comfortable to slip on. Plus, they replace a platform in their ability to balance an outfit (you know, so we don’t look like an upside-down triangle).

This is the kind of “investment” bag you buy today and use forever. Houndstooth makes your most basic black outfits look chic, and while it’s relatively petite and easy to carry, it holds a HUGE amount. We love buying bags almost more than anything else, because we wear them so much more than any individual piece of clothing (especially neutral bags like this one) so after like four months your cost-per-wear is basically 2 cents. AND you get dressed each day and when you pull out your fresh bag, you always feel as though you’re wearing something new.

What a gift it is that our laziest days can become our most fashionable at the drop of a… you get where I’m going with this. A good hat can do amazing things for an outfit. And this Gigi Pip hat is, pure and simple, THE perfect hat. Put it on, and we dare you to tell us different.
How we’re wearing it: We adore it as part of balanced look with a wide leg pant and fitted top. It also looks pretty smart with a denim jacket like THIS ONE.

I spent many years not really getting turtlenecks, but this one made me see the light. It’s lovely and warm but the material is light and fitted enough to layer. We’re partial to things that can make you look instantly dressed up but still feel supremely easy to throw on. This slinky skirt is silky without being clingy.
