We Can’t Stop Thinking About Kristen Bell's Outfits From “Nobody Wants This.” So We Found Them.

You’ve probably already heard of, read about, or ravenously binged Nobody Wants This. But what you may not know is that the celebrated rom-com series was created by and based on the experience of Erin Foster.
And that same Erin Foster is also the co-founder of the beloved clothing brand Favorite Daughter, a company known for churning out the most incredible, tailored-looking staples that are all very simple but also very unique. So while everyone was marveling at the honest storytelling about a healthy adult relationship, we were also all marveling at the main character’s incredible clothes.
Yes, she’s played by Kristen Bell and yes, she’d look stunning in a potato sack, but the incredible thing about these outfits is that they’re wildly easy to replicate on any body type. In addition to them being gorgeous and interesting, you can see all the smart ways they flatter a woman’s body - our bodies! And it comes down to 5 basic things:

This set is no exception, and the navy pinstripe made our hearts skip a beat.

2. THE MOST FLATTERING STRIPED ENSEMBLE

Oh look, it’s exact, incredibly comfortable pants worn on the show. The shape makes our waists look inches narrower and drapes perfectly over thicker hips and thighs. And if you’re straight as an arrow, these pants give you the illusion of curves in just the right places. Plus, they’re the prettiest olive, which is an overlooked neutral color for pants that matches everything and looks good on everyone.

Juuuust the right amount of mismatch to make it fashion. Plus this is one of the finest tanks to come out of one of the finest stripe brands we’ve ever seen. Apart from balancing out the baggier pant in this ensemble, this tank elevates anything we wear with it at any time.

Endless Rose Bouclé Jacket
The original jacket from Maje, costs $475, but this one has the same shape, texture, and luxe look (though not the same price). Most importantly, it has the color, which makes it entirely original and more alluring than just another boring, black jacket. Red is definitely a trend right now, but there’s something timeless about this jacket, and that is a theme throughout Kristen’s entire wardrobe, which is part of why we find it so exciting.

We just went ahead and filled in the blank with our absolute favorite little white sneak. If you don’t own the perfect casual-chic white tennis shoe shoe, do yourself a favor and buy this one. It’s the little black dress of footwear and works with every. single. thing.

3. THE DATE NIGHT OUTFIT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT

Dressing up to go out is always much harder than it feels like it’s going to be. Ditto for date nights. And a lot of that is because of the going-out top. We have the favorite jeans, the chic belt, the good shoes. But the tops let us down. So maybe that’s why we all got so excited when we saw this style on screen. And even more excited when we realized it wasn’t $1000.

Showing a wee bit of originality with something as simple as a lace-up boot is a way to make a casual denim look sing. These boots are statement without being too much. And the extra chunkiness is a great way to create balanced proportions when wearing more straight or fitted jeans so we don’t end up looking top-heavy. They also come in more color combinations than you can imagine. You gotta see.

This skirt fits like a dream. The elastic waist also makes it feel like something we could sleep in. Sizes in petite and plus. Comes in every color imaginable, but this look gave us the inspiration (*cough* excuse) to buy it in red.

The precise petite bag is no longer available, but this one is pretty darn close. Such a chic little way to make our whole outfit look more expensive, and ironically, it’s only $73.

6. THIS EFFORTLESSLY COOL GOING-OUT LOOK
Aritzia the ’90s denim bomber
You know all those times where you want to look dressed up enough to show up anywhere looking amazing but also look cool and casual and like you didn’t try too hard? Well this outfit felt like a solution to that feeling. The mix of a jean jacket with leather pants and sneaks is just so, so smart. And the shape of her jean jacket won us over immediately. Luckily, we found an incredibly similar version at Aritzia.

These are the only proportions that remotely flatter curves in leather (or vegan leather) pants. Needless to say, they’ve become a go-to. Oh, and they size in petite, all, and plus.

A dress like this is ALL about the fit. While the original from the show is out of stock almost everywhere, we aren’t even sad about it, because our favorite strapless dress of all time has long been this one from BHLDN. And amazingly, it even comes in that same piercing blue color. Now, be warned, it sells out ALL the time, but it also comes in black, and it might be our favorite little black dress we own.
