Brooke Rewa is a healthy living enthusiast, serial entrepreneur, antagonist of processed foods, and founder of Goodmylk, the brand making some of our favorite, ultra-clean, plant-based milks on the market.

We like Brooke.

We were thrilled to have the chance to hear her secrets— the kitchen tool she’d save in a fire, her thoughts on essential oils, and the fluffy Instagram accounts she exclusively follows.

Her answer to #7 is almost too relatable?

The Candidly Questionnaire

1. What’s something you really like about yourself?

My transparency— for better or worse.

2. What is your biggest challenge?

Vetting humans on a first meeting. I take people for their word and it doesn’t always work out.

3. What kitchen or house tool do you use daily that’s changed your life?

My Vitamix. It’s the first thing I’d grab if my house were on fire (after my pets).

4.  When do you feel most confident?

Barefoot and bra-less. It’s the real me.

5. Are essential oils anything?

Essential oils are everything. I have a bedtime essential oil routine I never skip. It’s a game-changer.

6. How do you create boundaries?

I never do. I just can’t and maybe don’t want to. At this point, I’ve embraced it, and it just works.

7. How do you dampen self-critical thoughts when they get too loud?

I poke at my husband until he gives me the compliments I need to hear.

8. Describe the most “you” outfit of all time.

Comfy (but cute) jumpsuit, no bra, ideally no shoes but definitely sandals if I have to leave the house.

9. What meal can you make the hell out of?

Weekly pizza night is a big deal at our house. We go homemade, choose your own toppings, wood fire (kind of). It’s legit.

10. What book has made the biggest impact on your life?

Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass.

11. Apart from family, what woman do you deeply admire?

Well RBG and Michelle Obama, obviously – but I’m always incredibly impressed by the other female founders I get to interact with on a regular basis.

So many of them are not only running a business, but also have a family, support their friends, and look fabulous while doing it all.

12. Which Insta account is creating the greatest content and why?

Well, I’ve curated my feed to be mostly adorable animals. It’s a lot of cows and sheep. Some faves include:

@cutest_cow

@cows._daily

@cutest.sheeps

And when I really want to blow my mind: @ourplanetdaily.

13.  What quote or phrase has really stayed with you?

“You are what you eat” is a quote I live by.

14.  What’s your most effective form of therapy?

Laughing with friends, or a good bath.

15. What’s your approach to mending conflict with people you work with?

Talk it out— always. Which is probably easier for the CEO than it is an employee, but we’ve tried to create a culture where our team members can say exactly what’s on their mind to anyone in the company, and have a respectful open dialogue.

16.  How do you feel about cilantro?

LOVE cilantro. But I was once a hater. I knew nothing then.

17.  Describe your actual bedtime routine.

I have a hardcore bedtime routine.

  • First: I put the bunnies to bed (literal furry bunnies that live inside my house).

  • Turn on my salt lamp.

  • Get my Vitruvi diffuser going with the scent of the evening.

  • Wash my face, and then apply a face mask while I floss and brush my teeth and stare at the bunnies as they settle in.

  • Toner, Vitamin C serum, face oil, under eye cream.

  • Read for 10-20 minutes in bed, pull the eye mask on, and lights out.

About 3 nights a week, I add a bath or sauna session to the routine.

18.  What’s the best thing you’ve ever read on the internet?

The things I read on the internet would bore you. They’re mostly about business or food.

But the videos I watch— those are fun! I love that guy who makes those videos pretending he’s things, like Banana bread’s agent.

19.  What’s your relationship with bangs?

Love them! Have had them and felt so chic and cool. My husband hates them. So it’s a battle I’ve chosen not to fight.
