8 Deliciously Quenching Alternatives To Plain Water If Plain Water Sort Of Makes You Gag

by The Candidly Team

As grown women, we are supposed to drink 11 cups of water a day.

Try as we might, we just can’t do it.

We created THIS HACK. We bought THIS viral receptacle. We do everything Hydration-Tok tells us to do.

And yet? We just can’t.

And so we tried an alarming number of hydrating beverages and satchels and dusts and electrolytes. Most of them were, how do you say? Ah yes. Gross.

But 9 of them were scrumptious and nearly addictive and now we are hooked for life.

Is “real” water always better? Of course. Is striving for perfection while making realistic choices along the way also good? Without question.

Let’s dive in.

1. Cure Hydrating Electrolyte Drink Mix

Guys, we love a satchet. Portable! Purse-friendly! And these watermelon-flavored electrolytes are giving us light whiffs of the most delicious beverage of all time—aka, Minute Maid Fruit Punch. Full of pink Himalayan salt, the flavor isn’t salty or overly fake-sweet tasting. Just juicy and yummy and we drink TWICE the amount of water when we have this lying around. We also always have THIS flavor in the home.

2. Teas' Tea Organic Unsweetened Jasmine Green Tea

Can you make your own iced tea outside by throwing a bunch of tea packets in a pitcher full of water and mint and letting it warm in the sun? But of course. And you should. But we don’t. We love this for a gentle, non-stimulanty pick me up once we start to get bleary and deflated around 3pm. And it’s basically just water!

3. Swoon Pink Lemonade

If we’re being very honest with ourselves, is there anything in this world more delicious than lemonade? A frosty, ice-clinky, tall glass of lemonade in the doggiest days of summer is truly one of life’s perfect duos. But lemonade is typically full of sugar and/or too taxing to make. This one is tart and lightly sweet and unspeakably refreshing. Shit, that is fresh. (name that reference please)

4. NB Pure Hydration+

Absolutely our favorite recovery product we’ve tried. Before we work out with weights, we throw a huge scoop of this into a blender along with a full serving of coconut water, frozen strawberries, frozen bananas, some chia seeds, and THIS protein powder. A. Unbelievably delicious. B. Packed with vitamins C and B12, along with sea salt, potassium, magnesium, calcium, along with 7 distinct amino acids. Yes.

5. Hint Water

No calories, sweeteners, nuts, preservatives, gluten, sugar. And yet, profoundly crisp and refreshing. All the flavors are delish but we’re partial to peach, watermelon, raspberry, and strawberry lemon. And oh look! They have a sample pack of just those flavors here.

6. Vita Coco Coconut Water

The last time one of us got a UTI our doctor told us to drink coconut water instead of the oft-recommended PediaLyte or Gatorade. Coconut water can enhance urinary tract health, and may help prevent kidney stones. It contains high levels of potassium and electrolytes and is as hydrating as water. Plus, yum.

7. Zevia Zero Calorie Soda, Nostalgic Variety Pack

Potentially the most delicious “soda alternative” that’s not full of garbage, and the flavors are excellent. Zero aspartame, zero sucralose, only Stevia. Our favorite flavors are black cherry, vanilla, root beer (!!), orange, and cream soda. Because no flavor is better than cream soda.

Sweetener: Stevia

Price: $26

8. SodaStream Terra Sparkling Water Maker

Nothing gets us to drink water like bubbles. Nothing. And the bubbles created from this Soda Stream are so tight and so slicing we actually prefer it to anything store-bought. And while the initial investment is a little bit audible-gulp, you’ll basically have a return on your investment after one month. An effervescent glass of homemade sparkling water with a huge squeeze of lime? THIS IS THE RIGHT ANSWER.

Price: $60
