WHY: We actually hate most foundation. We prefer gels and tinted spf and barely-there serum tints. Why? Because almost all “mature skin” foundation formulations we try makes us look older. Cakier. Wrinklier. Cryptkeeperier.
And why would we possibly add something to make us look older to our faces? We can do that alllll on our own. In fact, we will take the redness and blotchiness over an even skin tone if it means looking cakey and makeupy. Won’t you?

So here’s why out of all 6,792 foundations in the world, this one is, without a doubt, our favorite.
1. It really achieves that “good coverage without being cakey” thing we’re all looking for.
2. You know that serumy texture we all love? It has that. So when you apply it, it almost feels like skincare, and as you blend it into your cheeks, your nose, your neck, you can actually visibly watch your wrinkles and pores diminish before your very eyes.
3. We tried it with a sponge, a brush, and fingers, and fingers wins by a landslide. We find that half a pump is more than enough for a full face, even bringing it down on the neck (which we also do).
4. The shade range. Ohhhhh yes. The most important and hardest part of choosing any foundation. With 18 shades ranging from bone to ebony, the undertones are perfect, yet the actual shades are so forgiving that you could choose a little deeper or a little lighter and it will still blend seamlessly. BUT, the Trinny SITE has such easy-to-follow swatches (and many real-life women showing what shade they use) that it’s impossible to make a mistake.
