WHAT: The Nue Co. Skin Filter
WHY: Are we taken in by austere, apothecary-adjacent packaging? Of course we are. We are only human after all.
But don’t you find that when you sell your soul to the devil, and let your lust for beautiful branding steer your choices, you are often left wondering if the product itself even...does anything? We are so transfixed by clean lines and glass jars, our brains are barely engaged to judge whether those pills or potions or creams or drops or dusts actually work.
And we can be forgiven. People are drawn to beautiful things. The minimal, sans serif fonts say to us: I am effective. I am clean. I am natural. You can trust me.
How interesting that, for the most part, brands that spend their money, time, and resources on expensive branding and gorgeous bottles, spend less time on developing efficacious products, so that most of our cupboards are bursting with beautiful products that just don’t do anything.
And so, after four, meandering paragraphs about how most pretty jars are full of stuff that doesn’t work, let us tell you about a pretty jar full of stuff that does.
The Nue Co. Skin Filter claims:
“Vitamin C, Zinc, Champagne Grape Seed and Melon is clinically proven to improve skin luminosity, pigmentation, blemishes and elasticity,” while vitamin A “stimulates fibroblasts which in turn stimulates cell reproduction.” This supplement is also described as a “digestible retinol,” so as you can imagine, we were completely intrigued. And utterly skeptical.
Until we tried it.
Zero breakouts, noticeably improved luminosity, decreased hyperpigmentation, plumper and dewier skin overall. Net net: We took these pills for a solid month and our skin has never looked better.
If you feel like you need a boost, if your skin has been stuck, if you’re doing your skincare regimen religiously but aren’t seeing a change, this might be the ticket.
Form. And function. Ahhh.
