The Best Clean Cream Highlighter Is Actually An Eyeshadow

WHY: We’ve extolled the virtues of Supergoop! and their ingenious SPF trickery on The Candidly many times before. We say “trickery” because they’re sneaking SPF into such beautifully-made, clean products, we never feel like we’re piling on layers of thick, tacky sunscreen.
Welp, we’ve got another for you, complete with a make-up “hack,” in the form of Supergoop’s Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadow. As much as we love SPF, we would’ve never thought to put it in our eyeshadow. These eyeshadows use a hybrid of reef-safe Zinc Oxide 20 % (a mineral sunscreen) and Octisalate 5% (a clean chemical sunscreen) for SPF 30 protection. Plus, they’ve added rose, chamomile, and sunflower to fight free radicals, soothe, and moisturize.
And now that we have it, it makes us wonder how we could’ve gone all these years without protecting our delicate, precious eyelids from the sun?
More importantly, though, this is an eyeshadow you might actually want to use. It’s creamy, lightweight, and comes in gorgeous, lightly-shimmery, neutral hues for an easy wash of color. It doesn’t crease or flake, and requires just a simple finger dab to apply. But here’s the best way to use it: as a highlighter.
Usually, we skip the eyelids all together, swiping this cream onto the bridge of the nose, under the brows, on the inner corners of the eye, and across the high points of the cheekbone. Not only is it incredibly easy to use and requires a single finger for seamless swiping and blending, but we love that it gives you extra SPF protection along with glazed-donut levels of luminosity.
The amount of times we’ve been told we’re “glowing” is, honestly, getting embarrassing.
